How long does it take to get to 20 pull-ups?
Going from 10 to 20 strict pull-ups usually takes two to four months of steady work; the first pull-up and the jump from 5 to 10 take longer per rep. Most of the time goes into regular, sub-maximal volume rather than testing your max.
This estimator turns your current max and your days per week into a range of weeks for any target from 5 to 30, using milestones every few reps and a re-test every two weeks.

How the estimate works
- Each rung of the ladder has an expected duration at three sessions a week: a fast case, a typical case and a slow case.
- Your numbers decide where you start. You skip a rung only if what you can do today already clears it.
- The estimate is the sum of the rungs ahead of you, adjusted for your days per week. It is never closer than the sum of the fast cases.
- If you're below the starting standard, the first rung builds it, and the time grows with the gap.
