How long does it take to get a muscle-up?
The honest answer on forums is "it depends". It depends mostly on things you can measure today, in about eight minutes - your max strict pull-ups, your max straight-bar dips, and how high you can pull.
This estimator turns those numbers into a range of weeks and a date, using a five-step ladder from chest-to-bar pull-ups to muscle-up negatives. It shows the typical case and a fast and a slow one, because people vary and a single number would be a guess.

How the estimate works
- Each rung of the ladder has an expected duration at three sessions a week: a fast case, a typical case and a slow case.
- Your numbers decide where you start. You skip a rung only if what you can do today already clears it.
- The estimate is the sum of the rungs ahead of you, adjusted for your days per week. It is never closer than the sum of the fast cases.
- If you're below the starting standard, the first rung builds it, and the time grows with the gap.
